3 monthly apprentices teach environmental education. Also overseeing the entire
program while underway and lecturing on history, fishing and sailing and
singing.
First Mate (1993) - Overseeing on board sailing operations underway,
coordinating a paid crew of 10 - 12 and 4 - 6 weekly volunteers.
Second Mate (1994) - Running the foredeck and fishing operations and giving
volunteers, apprentices and interns sail training.
Volunteer (1979 - 1989) - Scraping, rust busting, sanding, varnishing,
painting, heaving, hauling and throwing lines, steering, jib tending, anchor
watch, teaching environmental education and anything else one's told like
furling, fending, and tossing the lead.
